Personal Track

I haven’t been able to run this week. Olivia and I caught the bug my hubby had. Not to mention the state was on fire and our air quality sucked. Because of this, I had to stick to the Peloton.

Did I mention we got one? My husband got me one after he put down the down payment on his motorcycle. My sister was super excited since she’s had one forever. I’ve been taking their core classes forever. The spin classes have been pretty killer.

Anyway, back to the week. Ashton Kutcher has a series of classes that he’s been doing while training for the NY marathon. Peloton has offered a cycle version (while they are on treadmill). With these classes, Ashton usually has another celeb (and a Peloton coach) that he fires off questions at as they run. I was watching the Thomas Rhett one.

Towards the end of the class, Thomas Rhett mentions he feels like he should be further along running wise and compares his speed to Ashton’s. The coach mentions doing the class that everyone is doing what they can. Everyone is at a different speed but we are all making differences and doing what we can. I wish I had the exact quote, but what she said made sense and hit me hard.

I am a mom of a 1 1/2 year old. I’ve never been a fast runner and yet I still do it. I literally am doing workouts in-between working, being mom and everything. Most days, I can’t turn my brain off until Olivia goes to sleep at night. I am not in marathon shape. Hell, I’m not even in 5K shape but I do what I can and when I can. I am not faster than some of my friends.

I am, however, faster than the person who won’t get off their butt on the coach.

Thinking in that way, I’m alright with where I’m at. After all, I’m only human.
